Improving lives of those living with addiction through rigorous and respectful science
Our ultimate goal is to improve the lives of people with substance use disorder (i.e. addiction). We test novel therapies for addiction in early-stage clinical trials and use neuroimaging to track how the brain recovers with treatment. With this approach we test whether interventions work and how they work - providing discoveries that can help patients now and advance neuroscience for the future.
To achieve our mission, we uphold these core values:
Conduct rigorous, ethical scientific research
Treat every person, regardless of background and role, with respect and kindness. This includes the volunteers in our research studies!
Approach each other and our work with openness, curiosity, and humility
Foster a sense of community, friendship, and humor - good science should be FUN!
